EHS ACADEMIC TEAM The 2008-2009 version of the Academic Team at Edgewood High School is trying to improve on its 2nd place finish in the FAVC scarlet division from a year ago. Returning varsity member Andrew Gantt has captained the team to a 1-1 record in the scarlet division (2-4 overall) to start the season. Sarah Williams led the team in scoring in a recent victory over the Ross Rams. Kyle Norquist had the best single round score, answering five questions correctly in the first round of a loss to Anderson. Seniors Joey Braun and Glenn Battishill are the remaining members of a strong varsity squad. The Academic Team competes against other FAVC teams in a jeopardy-like quiz bowl format. Topics include academic subjects like Science and Math, as well as trivia from sports, religion, and popular culture. Edgewood has a varsity, junior varsity, and freshman Academic Team. Academic Team is a spectator sport. Home matches are held in the lecture room at EHS and begin at 4pm. Check us out Wednesday Jan. 21st vs. Talawanda or Wednesday Feb. 4th vs. Norwood.
